Angel is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who brings a creative and empathetic approach to her practice. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Distinction from Yorkville University. Additionally, Angel is a certified classical pianist through the Royal Conservatory of Music, and incorporates creative elements like art, music, and play into her therapeutic work with children and youth.

Angel specializes in supporting children and youth aged 4 to 21, and helps them navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, or simply providing a safe space to talk. She creates a comfortable and friendly environment where her clients feel empowered to express their thoughts and emotions freely. Angel is dedicated to each child’s emotional healing and growth and equips children with the tools and skills needed to not only build confidence during sessions but also thrive beyond them.

Angel’s integrative therapeutic approach combines Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), solution-focused strategies, narrative techniques, and person-centered practices. She tailors each session to meet the unique needs and goals of her clients, ensuring every child’s journey is personalized. Angel collaborates closely with each child’s family, develops treatment plans that align with the child’s development and aspirations and fosters resilience and emotional well-being in her practice.

Angel’s path to psychotherapy is inspired by her experiences of being raised with a sister who is autistic and non-verbal. They shared a close bond growing up, and Angel accompanied her sister to therapy sessions as a child. This deeply shaped Angel’s understanding of the therapeutic process and the profound privilege of guiding children and youth as they grow, heal, and reach their full potential in a supportive and nurturing environment.

What’s the Difference Between Talking to a Friend and Talking to a Therapist?

When life gets difficult many of us instinctively turn to a trusted friend or family member for support. It's comforting to have someone who knows us, cares about us, and can lend an ear when we need to vent. And often that is enough, we don’t need to talk to anyone else. But sometimes, we need more support than our friend is able to provide, and we need someone with additional training and experience to help us cope with the difficulties we are facing. That’s when you may want to talk to a therapist.

How long do I need to stay in therapy?

If you’ve ever considered starting therapy or are currently in treatment, you might wonder: How long do I need to stay in therapy? This question is common and valid, as people often have personal, financial, and logistical factors to consider. There isn’t a simple answer; everyone is different, and while some people may stay in therapy long term, others may only need a few sessions; therapy is as unique as the individuals who seek it.

How can I get the most out of therapy?

Therapy is a deeply personal journey and a powerful tool for self-improvement, healing, and growth. With countless therapeutic approaches available—ranging from the structured techniques of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to the deep exploration of psychodynamic therapy—sessions can vary significantly.
