Simrit is a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Toronto and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. She works with teens, adults, and couples, providing a secure, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to share their stories, explore challenges, and work toward growth and healing.
Simrit specializes in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflicts, identity struggles, and intimacy concerns. She is passionate about empowering her clients to manage stress, process difficult experiences, and create healthier, more fulfilling lives. Simrit also has experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and adults with various developmental disabilities.
Simrit takes a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy. She tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients. She draws on a number of therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, and Sex Therapy approaches. This adaptable style allows her to collaboratively guide clients toward meaningful solutions and lasting change.
Simrit is a second generation immigrant from India and is fluent in English and Punjabi; she can also understand Hindi. She comes to therapy with a deep understanding about how different cultural beliefs and practices impact perceptions of mental health and the journey to wellness. She offers culturally sensitive therapy, particularly for individuals navigating identity challenges, family dynamics, and cultural expectations.
Simrit is passionate about actively collaborating with other mental health professionals in research to further the care of vulnerable populations.
